NFL Power Rankings, Week 3

Did you see that Monday night game? Holy cow, that was ridiculous! Now after watching the Jets play at 4 PM, can’t you just see another shoot-out like that next week when they play SD on Monday night? Yawn. I smell a blow-out a mile away in that game.

But how about Brandon Marshall against SD. 18 catches, are you serious? That’s insane. Great week of football. Even better because my Bills came back to shut up this ridiculous, douchebag Jaguars fan in the sports bar I was at.

So here's my take:

TEAM

1. Dallas Cowboys (2-0)

I guess I may have spoken too soon about the upgraded D, but that offense is unbelievable. With Pacman and now Felix Jones returning kicks, they are gonna score a lot.

2. NY Giants (2-0)

Maybe Washington isn’t that bad, the Giants just made them look that bad. This defense is for real and I know it was the Rams, but Eli is looking like the playoffs never ended.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0)

It was rainy and Big Ben has a bit of a shoulder issue, but the offense didn’t look the same against a Browns team that was not good in week 1. When is Mendenhall gonna get more time?

4. Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)

Hard to say the Eagles are not the second best team in the NFL after that game last night. And all this without Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis. Now they just need to figure out the D.

5. GB Packers (2-0)

They had a little slip-up in the middle of the game against Detroit, but their D stood strong when it needed to. Rodgers and James Jones got on track right away.

6. Carolina Panthers (2-0)

Their defense hasn’t played this well in ages and Delhomme makes all the difference for them at QB. Now they get Steve Smith back.

7. Indianapolis Colts (1-1)

They didn’t look good…again, but they pulled out a win this time. Can never count out a team with Manning, but the running game needs to get on track.

8. New England Patriots (2-0)

Well, they’re 2-0 and Cassell looked good at times. They won’t ask him to do much, so he should keep them in games. But they are not gonna stay on top for long.

9. Buffalo Bills (2-0)

They were supposed to be 0-2 right now. Winning a game like that says a lot about the progress of their young guns.

10. Denver Broncos (2-0)

Okay, so they should be 1-1. That doesn’t take away from the fact that their offense has looked incredible. Now they need to give Selvin Young more carries.

11. Tennessee Titans (2-0)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t buy them being this good of a team. But as long as they keep playing like it, I will rank them accordingly.

12. SD Chargers (0-2)

They should be 1-1 and then this wouldn’t seem so high to rank them. Merriman couldn’t have been THAT big of a loss on D. Though the toes on that team worry me.

13. New Orleans Saints(1-1)

They really blew that one against Washington. Bush needs to be explosive on a consistent basis with Colston out and their D needs to get healthy, fast.

14. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)

Battling injuries, but by the end of the season they will be in the thick of the playoff race. Trust me. Plus, losing to the Bills won’t be a bad thing come seasons end.

15. Arizona Cardinals (2-0)

Remember when I said Kurt Warner was over the hill? I’m an idiot. The guy was incredible last week and they have always had offensive firepower.

16. Baltimore Ravens (1-0)

They’ve got no tested QB, a 3 person committee at RB and no real #1 WR, but with that defense they are never out of any game.

17. Washington Redskins (1-1)

That’s more like the Redskins I thought I would see. People doubt Campbell, but the guy can play. They may go on a little run here.

18. TampaBay Bucs (1-1)

Griese is a downgrade from Garcia, but this team can still win games. They’ve got a solid D and some good RBs.

19. Chicago Bears (1-1)

Almost pulled out another one last week. Another team that’s led by their defense. They just hope their offense doesn’t screw it up too much.

20. NY Jets (1-1)

Now will people stop talking about Favre as the savior? He’s a great QB, but no longer among the Elite and he just doesn’t have a good team around him. No more playoff talk.

21. Cleveland Browns (0-2)

They need to figure stuff out, and fast. They are making uncharacteristic mistakes on offense and it is really hurting them. Look for an upset this week.

22. SF 49ers (1-1)

One win closer to that playoff birth I predicted. Their offense is going to give people some fits and they have good, young talent on D.

23. Minnesota Vikings (0-2)

They had their chances to put the Colts away early and blew them. But if Peterson stays healthy, they will put together a good season. Jackson is not as bad as people are claiming.

24. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2)

No, I do not actually believe they are this bad of a team. I have no idea what is going wrong, but it will be fixed. This week.

25. Houston Texans (0-1)

They were going to beat Baltimore last week and prove me right. Looks like they’ll have to settle for Tennessee. This is going to be a good team.

26. Seattle Seahawks (0-2)

It says something when you sign Keary Colbert and Koren Robinson and a day later people are thinking that they might be starting. This team is in bad shape.

27. Atlanta Falcons (1-1)

Ryan and Turner just found out that it was going to be a little harder in the BFL than the first week led on. They are still gonna beat some teams with that talent though.

28. Oakland Raiders (1-1)

Welcome to the NFL, Darren McFadden. With Fargars’ injury, we may see a lot more of DMC. That’s bad news for other teams.

29. Detroit Lions (0-2)

They put together a valiant comeback attempt against GB and they are going to score TDs. They just need to learn to stop giving them to other teams.

30. Miami Dolphins (0-2)

They looked decent the first game. Not so much last week. And where did Fasano go?

31. St. Louis Rams (0-2)

Only moved up a spot because of KC injuries and because I still think Jackson and Holt will pull some wins out for them.

32. KC Chiefs (0-2)

Just a really bad team. And if they are going to start benching LJ now, they’ll have zero weapons. And man, they’re boring to watch.
